Adds Grafana Labs' Grafana Cloud plugin (grafana-cloud-mcp) as an external plugin hosted in grafana/ai-marketplace.

What it does

The plugin connects Copilot to Grafana's hosted MCP server at https://mcp.grafana.com/mcp. Users can query metrics, logs, traces and profiles (Prometheus, Loki, Tempo, Pyroscope), work with dashboards, alert rules and incidents, and ask Grafana Assistant questions.

  • Streamable HTTP, generally available, nothing to install locally.
  • Authentication is OAuth 2.1 with dynamic client registration. Users pick their Grafana Cloud stack on the consent page, and access is limited by their Grafana RBAC. No API keys or environment variables.
  • It also ships a skill covering setup, access scopes and how to keep queries narrow.

Changes

  • .github/plugin/marketplace.json: adds a github source entry for grafana/ai-marketplace at plugins/grafana-cloud-mcp.
  • README.md: adds the plugin to the External Plugins list.

Plugin layout

The plugin directory uses .claude-plugin/plugin.json, .mcp.json and skills/. These are among the plugin locations the Copilot CLI plugin reference documents. The same directory also serves Claude Code, Cursor and Codex.

Testing

  • The marketplace JSON parses, and plugin names are unique.
  • claude plugin validate passes for the marketplace and for the plugin directory.

Lists grafana-cloud-mcp from grafana/ai-marketplace as an external
plugin. It connects Copilot to Grafana's hosted MCP server
(https://mcp.grafana.com/mcp) over Streamable HTTP with OAuth sign-in,
and ships a skill on using its tools.
